No Mercy
The famous forensic expert who is also a lecturer of criminology,
Kang Min-Ho '(Seol Kyeong-gu) along with his former student, Detective Min
Seo-yeong (Han Hye-jin) is assigned to solve a sadistic murder case accompanied
by a mutilation with the victim of a young woman. Through various clues found
on the victim's body and crime scene, the inquiry then presents Lee Seong-ho
(Seung-beom Ryu), an environmental activist as the main suspect. Interestingly,
Lee Seong-ho is not at all denying the sadistic deeds he does, even as this one
lame man conceals something, an unforgettable big plan full of surprises for
our forensic expert Kang Min-Ho.
In addition to often bringing romantic melodrama teardrops, South Korean films can also say jagonya presents stories of high-quality crime thriller, such as Memories of Murder (2003), The Chaser (2008), Vegeance Trilogy, Mother (2009) , etc. And in this year 2010, one more quality crime thriller comes back to satisfy the thirst of the audience in, No Mercy aka Yongseoneun Eupda.
Indeed, if viewed as a whole, the film directed and written by Kim Hyeong-joon is probably still a little under the films that I mentioned above, but that does not mean his work does not present this same sensation. Yes, you could say for this year No Mercy which in fact is less audible this echo is one of South Korea's best thrillers. With intelligent plot bands, combining the forensic investigation-style investigative elements such as the US television series, CSI or Bones in the early minutes and then directly 'turn sharply' as they enter the main conflict. The series of time-paced scenes combined with and the ultimate villian's ability to control the 'game' make this movie even more exciting and that is coupled with the presence of a surprisingly layered twist after twist in mid to climax.
If most similar-themed films present scenes where the main character tries to find evidence to prove the innocent criminal, the unique No Mercy is the opposite. In because of a very urgent matter, our heroes are required to perform various manipulations of evidence so that the criminals can be free. Well, after witnessing how the struggle of the main character, Kang Min-Ho who to helter skelter there, we come to the most dahysat part I think, yes, the scene is ending. Ever seen Seven by David Fincher? or have you witnessed Park Chan-wook's tragic Old Boy ending? Well, try to combine the climax of both and you will get an unexpected shocking ending that makes me just gape at how amazing Kim Hyeong-joon ends this criminal story. Love It !!, definitely Love it !!
